The Housing Authority of the City of Statesboro, GA does not manage the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly known as Section 8) for Bulloch County, GA. You may contact the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for more information on the Housing Choice Voucher Program at (800) 359-4663.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

Notice is hereby given, that a Public Hearing will be held on December 5, 2023, at 10:00 AM for comment on the Statesboro Housing Authority’s Capital Fund Five-Year Action Plan 2024-2028 as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The documents are available for review over a 45-day period on the Authority’s website or at the central office located at:

     Hwy 80 East
     Statesboro, GA 30458

The Public Hearing will be held at the above location. Any person wishing to comment on the documents listed above, may file his or her comments in writing with the Authority’s Executive Director at the above address by 5:00 PM on December 4, 2023, or may attend the Public Hearing. All comments will be considered in preparing the final document prior to submittal to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Housing Authority of the City of Statesboro is a public housing agency located in Statesboro, Georgia. We provide housing to eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities within Statesboro. To keep rent low, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) subsidizes based on individual incomes.

Eligibility is determined on annual gross income, family composition, and U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status. To determine income eligibility, we use standards that are set each year by HUD and are unique to our area based on family size.
